What is the VEA Executive Board?
The VEA Executive Board consists of Executive Officers, Trustees, and Ex-Officio Members. The Executive Officers carry out various essential functions for VEA’s continued operations. The Trustees bring knowledge and expertise to ensure that the interests of broadly defined constituencies are represented in Executive Board deliberations. Ex-Officio members perform specific duties on behalf of VEA, which are sufficiently vital to VEA’s mission that their participation in Executive Board decision-making is necessary. The VEA Executive Board’s duties and operations are outlined in our Governing Documents.
Consistent with the goals and objectives and the existing policies of the Association, established by the Representative Council, the Executive Board shall act for the Association between meetings of the Representative Council and in addition shall have the sole responsibility for any matter expressly delegated to it by the Bylaws, Standing Rules, and the Representative Council.

When does the Executive Board meet?
The Executive Board generally meets monthly from September to June on the third Monday, unless it falls on a scheduled holiday. The Executive Board also typically holds an all day meeting in mid-August to prepare for the upcoming year. Regular meetings begin at 5:00pm and are held at the West Park Community Room (610 Esther St., Vancouver, WA 98660). Occasionally, special meetings may be called following Representative Council meetings or at other times to attend to urgent business. The regular meeting schedule for the 2026-27 school year is as follows:
